The Downgrade

Here’s my question… why is it people say something they have no intention of keeping?

Why would a guy say “I really want to see you again” and then they go M.I.A (Missing in Action, or maybe even before any kind of action 😜)?

Regardless of getting in action or not, they fuel you up with trust and intentions… and then you hear the crickets… 🙄

You see inaction only, so opposite to what you had been explicitly told.

Then you wonder… did I misunderstand?

Did I misinterpret the signals?

But then you remember… they weren’t subtle, they were repeatedly said out loud.

So immediately your mind is wondering: what did I do? Or what did I not do?

Maybe I’m not interesting enough, smart enough, funny enough, pretty enough, skinny enough… and boom… suddenly the pressure of being Amazing kicks in.

And you feel like sh**.

Because you’re just not on that Amazing level… and they’re gone.

They were so close and then so gone.

After lots of thinking, I realize the problem is not that I’m not Amazing.

The problem is that people, especially guys (I can’t say Men because unfortunately I haven’t met any in quite some time now), are confused and don’t really know what they want.

They want but they don’t.

Or they do but they don’t.

I don’t know. 😳🤷🏻‍♀️🤭

What I do know is that they say they are Men and they’ll show it… and then… magically disappear.

Is it my problem to downgrade them from the Men they say they are to the guys they prove to be?

It seems they forget their guts (to be polite and not say something else) and their brains somewhere in between and just wander off.

Maybe they’ll get together with someone else, maybe the magical click just wasn’t there.

I guess he just wasn’t that much into you 🙊🙈

And you continue with your life as if it’s all been an illusion.

Nothing happened.

Move On.

In the meantime, I’ll keep my hat on 😉
