Strong and Proud

Can one look reflect ones hopes and dreams but also fears? Can one in a tiny second go through an endless parade of thoughts and wishes?

For the first time I publish a picture of myself on my blog.

An open face picture. A selfie. Taken on a New Year’s Eve, welcoming 2017.

And I remember it as if it was today. I’m not that fond of selfies but I have my narcissistic moments 😋 and there I was… trying one after another determined to get a proper one.

And I remember so vividly of thinking… what do I wish for 2017? And in that precise moment I clicked the pic.

I retained right then and there all my thoughts, dreams and fears.

The biggest one was the desire to be strong, to be proud of myself. That was the challenge I set myself for the coming years.

And today (could be any other day, but for some reason, it came out today) I proudly post my picture, my words now have a face.

I realize I have accomplished the goals I set that night.

I do stand strong. I do stand proud.

Obviously, I have ups and downs (don’t we all?!). We all have moments in which we wish to be better people.

But life is as it is. You are who you are.

You just need to respect yourself. Some things take time.

And if you acknowledge them, you can work on them.

You can do better and be better. It’s your choice.

To work on yourself.

To grow yourself to the strength you need.

And once you understand you have it within, you finally feel capable of the deep breaths you long for.

It’s a constant work in progress. Embrace it.

The idea behind this page is to share my opinion and experience in what seems to be a crazy world nowadays. I look at myself, my friends and acquaintances and hear so many different, yet similar stories… of our search for Love, disappointments, insights. I wanted to share them! Considering cultural differences some adjustments had to be made. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it!
